L.E. Modesitt, Jr(born 1943) is an author of mostly Science Fiction and Fantasy Novels. His full name is Leland Exton Modesitt and he is mostly known for his "Recluce" Novels.
L.E. Modesitt was a Navy pilot, a market research analyst, a real estate agent, director of research for a political campaign, Director of Legislation and Congressional Relations for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)however, he became the Assistant Acting Assistant Administrator for Legislation in 1987 under Reagan. He left the EPA to become a Environmental regulation consultant.
His first fictional work, "The Great American Economy", was published in 1973 in Analog Science Fiction and Science Fact.
