Richard Samuel Attenborough (Lord Attenborough) (born August 29, 1923 in Cambridge, England) is an actor and director. He was educated at Wyggeston Grammar School for Boys in Leicester and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art.
He is President of RADA and chairman of Capital Radio. He is also the elder brother of the broadcaster Sir David Attenborough.
He won the 1982 Academy Award for Directing for his motion picture epic, Gandhi.
