The 2001 LP The Argument was the eighth full-length album from the seminal alternative rock band, Fugazi. This eleventh original release for Dischord Records, which Ian MacKaye co-owns, brought the band perhaps the furthest they have come yet from their shared hardcore punk roots. In his four-star review for Rolling Stone, Arion Berger called The Argument "a bracing corrective to the misconceptions of punk's original intent." [1] The Washington Post went so far as to call the lyrics "Kafkaesque" and said at least one of the tracks "could pass for a Radiohead B-side." [1] It was recorded at Inner Ear Studios and the Dischord House between January and April 2001 and released on October 16, 2001.
