In 1944 it numbered about 50,000 soldiers; major subordinate units: Polish 3rd Infantry Division, 5th Kresowa Infantry Division, 2nd Armored Brigade, Corps Artillery; during 1944-1945 the Corps fought on the Italian front; after the war the majority of soldiers remained in exile.
