'\Alexander Milan Filipov' was an electrical engineer (1931-2001).

Filipov specialized in aeronautic machinery.

He died at age 70 in the crash of American Airlines Flight 11 in the September 11, 2001 Terrorist Attack. He was survived by his wife and son, David Filipov, Moscow bureau chief for the Boston Globe at the time of his death. Filipov was going to Los Angeles for a business meeting with the company for which he consulted. He had changed his ticket from a Delta flight to Flight 11 at the last minute.
