Andross is a fictional character from the Star Fox universe, or Lylat System. He is Fox McCloud's arch nemesis. He is an orangutan like creature. He always wants to rule the Lylat System. He was born and raised in Corneria. He was to be a brillant scientist, but he turned out to be a maniacal scientist. He thought on the wrong terms and ideas, and as a result, he turned evil. He was exiled by General Pepper to the barren deserted planet Venom, because of his evil and dangerous experiments happening on Corneria. Five years later, General Pepper noticed that Andross and his associates were performing strange activity in Venom. A mercenary unit called Star Fox was formed, initially consisting of James McCloud, Peppy Hare, and Pigma Dengar. When the original Star Fox team arrived to Venom, Pigma Dengar betrayed the Star Fox team and turned evil, and Andross captured James McCloud. Peppy Hare narrowly escaped from Venom and informed Fox McCloud about his father's destiny. General Pepper turned to a brand new Star Fox team lead by Fox McCloud, in order to vanquish Andross and save Corneria and free the Lylat System from Andross's dominion. The new Star Fox team consists of Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare, Slippy Toad, and Falco Lombardi. He told them that Andross was about to invade the Lylat System and seize Corneria. Andross was guarded by the Star Wolf team. The Star Fox team went on a perilous journey to Venom and defeated the Star Wolf team and then Fox McCloud went to the interior where Andross is and defeated him. Andross's nephew, Andrew Oikonny, is a member of the mercenary Star Wolf team.
Eight years later, Andross discovered the ancient power of the Krazoa. He was behind General Scales' evil plot against Dinosaur Planet. He revived himself by reducing Krystal, who has the ability to channel the Krazoa power, to Fox McCloud's damsel in distress, shortly after Krystal released the first Krazoa, when completing the Test of Observation. In order to free Krystal, Fox McCloud finished what she started, as the first Krazoa told him at Moon Mountain Pass. Shortly after he released her from the trap of a crystal atop the Krazoa Palace, the staff, which fell into ThornTail Hollow, returned to Krystal's hands, and then Andross awakened. Immediately afterwards, Fox McCloud went into his Arwing, got reunited with Falco Lombardi, and they defeated Andross once again. Then Dinosaur Planet is saved.
Andross appeared as a trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee.
