Aneska were a British rock-metal band based in Wolverhampton. The band consisted of guitarist Simon Glazebrook, bassistist Sam Francis, drummermer Mat Stubs and singer Daniel Evans (they also used a drum machine).

The group formed in September 2001 after Mat was introduced to the other members by Andy Blackburn, then of Optophobia[1]. They immediately began writing songs and practicing at a local studio, The Beat Foundry. On the 28th March 2002, less than six months after they had formed, Aneska performed their first live show at the Little Civic, supporting local giants Hyper Hyper Girl Lover. That first gig sold out, probably due to Hyper Hyper Girl Lover's popularity, and received a very positive review from UltimateMetal.com [1]. Since then, the band has played a number of concerts in the West Midlands, notably with Dury Falls (which includes ex-members of Kilkus), Opiate, thisGIRL, Nora, Sugarcoma and Tin Omen.

In June 2002, the group recorded a three-track demo entitled More To Burn, which was produced in just five hours of studio time. The band then began burning copies of the promo CD, making the card cases and distributing the demo themselves, by hand and post. A second recording session took place in February 2003 at Robannas Studios [1] in Birmingham, including new recordings of the three demo tracks as well as newer songs. Some of these tracks were played on BBC Radio West Midlands to promote the recordings and a festival the band were playing in the summer of that year. However, the band decided not to release these tracks traditionally, only making some of them available online via mp3.com and dubbing them The Lost EP.

After some attempts to make an improved recording, the band mutually decided to split on December 13, 2003, without finishing the recording.
