The anklung is an ancient Indonesian musical instrument, made of bamboo. It usually consists of two or three hollow bamboo tubes tied to bamboo sticks.

The anklung is played by shaking it sideways. Usually three or more persons have an anklung in their hands, which produce sounds at different pitches. In this way, a complete melody can be played with just anklungs.

The anklung is popular in the whole of Southeast Asia.

Often a musical ensemble uses various musical instruments besides the anklung, such as the kulintang, and there is dancing along with the music.\n
