Anthony Boucher (August 21, 1911 - April 29, 1968) [1] was an American science fiction editor and writer of mystery novels and short stories. Boucher was born as William Anthony Parker White in Oakland, California and went to college there at USC. He was admired for his limited output of mystery writing but was most noted for his science fiction anthologies and reviews of mystery novels. He helped found the Mystery Writers of America. He was also editor of the Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction for several years after its founding. Anthony Boucher died of lung cancer on April 29, 1968 at the Kaiser Foundation Hospital.
