Appleby (full name Appleby-in-Westmorland) is a town in Cumbria, England. It is situated within a loop of the River Eden and has a population of 2,500.

Appleby's main industry is tourism due to its remote location, scenery and closeness to the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Lake District. Appleby is on the Settle and Carlisle Railway and is overlooked by Appleby Castle.

Appleby's MP is David Maclean (Conservative), MP for Penrith and The Border.
