Avanor is yet another roguelike game. It is heavily inspired by ADOM.

Avanor was written by Vadim Gaidukevich (he lives in Minsk, Belarus), the current version is 0.5.7 and it is still in heavy development, though quite playable. It can be downloaded from the official site. Recently its source code has been released under the GNU Public License.

About the game

The game of Avanor consists of a player, the hero(ine), who lives in the land of Avanor. Avanor was once a great land, but now it is an isolated valley kingdom under serious threat. You, as the hero(ine) must save Avanor, or dominate it (whichever you choose).

Avanor's interface is similar to ADOM, but it plays the levels even in the player's absence. As such, the game is highly realistic since when you enter dungeons after a while, the monsters will have regenerated and there will be monsters with big treasure hoardes as well as random piles from monsters that were slain by other monsters. The game also has many places to visit including a Dwarftown, the Capital of Avanor, the besieged Royal Guardians and many other places.
