Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index The Big Seven Conference, a former NCAA-affiliated Division I college athletic association that sponsored American football, was formed in 1948 when Colorado joined the six charter members of the Big Six Conference (Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, and Oklahoma). The Big Seven Conference remained intact until 1958, when the seven members were joined by Oklahoma State to create the Big Eight Conference.
