Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Bingol (Turkish for: a thousand lakes) is a town in the Anatolia region of Turkey. It is surrounded by mountains and a large number of glacier lakes, hence the name. Lately, the town has become a popular tourist destination. Bingol is also the name of one of the 81 iller or provinces, which are the main administrative divisions in the country (see politics of Turkey).
