Canoe Township is a township located in Indiana County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,670.

The racial makeup of the township is 99.88% White, 0.00% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.06% from other races, and 0.06% from two or more races. 0.42% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 592 households out of which 31.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.8% are married couples living together, 10.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 27.7% are non-families. 24.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 3.01.
