Caroline Records was a subsidiary of Richard Branson's Virgin Records label during the early to mid 1970s. The label specialised in putting out budget price LPs by mainly progressive artists generally not considered to have a great deal of 'mainstream' or commercial appeal, but were often however creatively of great interest. Some notable releases on the Caroline label included;

  • Egg- The Civil Surface
  • Gong- Camembert Electrique
  • Lol Coxhill- Fleas In Custard
  • Henry Cow- Concerts
  • Fred Frith- Guitar Solos Volumes 1 and 2
