Clinton Township is a township located in Oscoda County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 511.

Geography

United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 185.6 km² (71.7 mi²). 182.1 km² (70.3 mi²) of it is land and 3.5 km² (1.4 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.88% water.

Demographics

\nAs of the
census of 2000, there are 511 people, 223 households, and 158 families residing in the township. The population density is 2.8/km² (7.3/mi²). There are 541 housing units at an average density of 3.0/km² (7.7/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 97.46% White, 0.20% African American, 1.57% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.78% from two or more races. 1.17% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 223 households out of which 22.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.1% are married couples living together, 6.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 29.1% are non-families. 24.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 12.1% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.29 and the average family size is 2.67. In the township the population is spread out with 18.4% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 22.3% from 25 to 44, 29.5% from 45 to 64, and 22.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 98.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 104.4 males. The median income for a household in the township is $33,750, and the median income for a family is $34,375. Males have a median income of $31,528 versus $20,625 for females.
