The racial makeup of the borough is 97.16% White, 1.52% African American, 0.57% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.19% from other races, and 0.57% from two or more races. 0.19% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 215 households out of which 35.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 51.2% are married couples living together, 10.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 31.6% are non-families. 27.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.46 and the average family size is 2.95.
