Cloverly is an uncorporated area located in Montgomery County, Maryland.

Geography

As an unincorporated area, Cloverly's boundaries are not officially defined. Cloverly is, however, recognized by the United States Census Bureau as a Census-designated Place, and by the United States Geological Survey as a populated place located at 39°6'11" North, 76°58'35" West (39.102958, -76.976275)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the place has a total area of 10.1 km² (3.9 mi²). 10.1 km² (3.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 7,835 people, 2,492 households, and 2,113 families residing in the area. The population density is 773.7/km² (2,004.7/mi²). There are 2,540 housing units at an average density of 250.8/km² (649.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the area is 61.52% White, 19.13% African American, 0.40% Native American, 14.05% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.98% from other races, and 2.92% from two or more races. 5.13% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,492 households out of which 43.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 71.4% are married couples living together, 9.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 15.2% are non-families. 12.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.14 and the average family size is 3.41.

In the area, the population is spread out with 29.0% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 25.5% from 25 to 44, 29.2% from 45 to 64, and 8.9% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 39 years. For every 100 females there are 98.0 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 93.3 males.
