Compton Township is a township located in Otter Tail County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 799.

census of 2000, there are 799 people, 250 households, and 197 families residing in the township. The population density is 8.6/km² (22.4/mi²). There are 267 housing units at an average density of 2.9/km² (7.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.50% White, 0.25% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.13% from other races, and 1.13% from two or more races. 0.63% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 250 households out of which 40.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.0% are married couples living together, 4.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.2% are non-families. 15.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 3.20 and the average family size is 3.62. In the township the population is spread out with 35.3% under the age of 18, 8.0% from 18 to 24, 22.0% from 25 to 44, 24.7% from 45 to 64, and 10.0% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 117.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 117.2 males.
