The Congo and its subsidiaries run through the second largest rain forest area in the world, only the Amazon Rainforest being (much) larger. In Vodun, a rather dull and lazy spirit was named Congo. There are also two countries in Africa both named Congo, after the river: Republic of the Congo - Congo/Brazzaville, the smaller one in the west. Democratic Republic of the Congo - formerly Zaire - Congo/Kinshasa, the larger one in the east.
