Crazy For You is a 2 act musical comedy for stage written by Ken Ludwig featuring music by Ira and George Gershwin. Opening at the Shubert Theater on Broadway in February of 1992 it originally ran with over 1600 performances. The show centers around two central characters. Polly Baker is a rough-and-tumble cowgirl living in with her aging father on their farmland in Nevada. Bobby is a young New York man poised to take over his mother's real estate company. When he is sent to Nevada to literally "buy the farm" from Polly, he discovers a ramshackle theater where vaudville shows used to take place. Using local cowboys and cowgirls he manages to put together a successful off-Broadway show, thus saving the Bakers from losing their land (and falling in love with Polly in the process.)

The entire show was received as extremely contrived and a somewhat dim excuse to put together some of the Gershwin's more beloved tunes (such as the title song, "Embraceable You" and "Nice Work if You Can Get It"). The show was based on the 1920's play "Girl Crazy", which featured extensive ethnic humour and low brow wit.
