In humans, the cremaster muscle is a discontinuous layer of skeletal muscle tissue found in the scrotum between the external and internal layers of spermatic fascia. Anatomically, it is the extension of the internal oblique muscle through the inguinal canal.

The function of the cremaster is to elevate the scrotum and testicles, primarily for temperature control.

The Cremaster Cycle is the name of a sequence of five films by Matthew Barney, entitled Cremaster 1 to Cremaster 5.
