Cyprien Ntaryamira (1956 - April 6, 1994), was President of Burundi from February to April 1994. His ethnic group, the Hutus, had just been able to take over the government after multiparty elections in 1993, after a very long rule by the Tutsi minority.

However, the first Hutu president, Melchior Ndadaye, had been assassinated in October 1993, and after a period of rule by prime minister Sylvie Kinigi, Nteryamira took over. He was killed in a plane crash along with his fellow Hutu president, Juvénal Habyarimana of Rwanda.
