Detroit's Dirty Dozen (aka D12) have been around for almost a decade, but only recently came into the hip-hop spotlight when their most notorious member, Eminem, rose to international fame with multi-platinum albums, a superhit movie and a whole lot of controversy.

The group actually consists of six members: Eminem, Proof, Kon Artis, Swift, Kuniva and Bizarre, but because each member has an alias the number rounds up to an even dozen.

Their debut, Devil's Night, referring to the Detroit tradition of setting abandoned buildings on fire the night before Halloween, was relased in June 2001.

The album did very well, although it is widely believed that the they lack the talent that has taken Eminem so far. They have since been out of the news, although Eminem continues to be in it almost every week.
