Dandy is a British children's comic book published by D. C. Thomson & Co. Ltd which was first issued on 4 December 1937. There have been several long-running strips over the years. The longest running strip in the comic is Desperate Dan who appeared the first issue in 1937.


A dandy is another word for a fop, a stock character and member of a fashion movement from the eighteenth and nineteenth century.


Dandy may also describe a mood, as in "I'm feeling just dandy today!". The word "peachy" might also be used instead as well, either one is considered colloquial.
