History of DeVry

  • 1931 First school opened by Lee DeForest as DeForest Training School in Chicago.
  • 1953 Renamed DeVry Technical Institute.
  • 1966 Acquired by Bell & Howell.
  • 1968 Renamed DeVry Institute of Technology.
  • 1987 Merged with Keller Graduate School of Management.
  • 2002 Combined schools renamed DeVry University.
