Doylestown is a borough located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 8,227. It is the county seat of Bucks County6.

Doylestown was first settled by William Doyle in 1745, who established a tavern at what is now the corner of Main and State Streets. In 1813, the town was established as the county seat of Bucks County, due to its central location. The town flourished due to abundant transportation and its more residential and commercial appeal.
