The Islamic festival of Eid ul-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, and is one of the two Eid festivals in the Islamic year (the other being Eid ul-Adha).

The Islamic community assembles together to offer Namaaz (prayer) of Eid at a common place or at various Masjids. They thank Allah (God) for enabling them to fulfill all the required obligations and rituals during the month of Ramadan. They celebrate the festival by not only giving gifts to one another but also by distributing alms to poor.
