Elgin is the largest town in Moray, Scotland.

It is traditionally regarded as a city on account of having been at one time the chief town of the diocese of Moray.

The former cathedral has only fragmentary ruins left, though these give some hint of its former glory.

The town has a station on the Aberdeen to Inverness line, and stands on the A96 road between the same places. The nearest airport is at Inverness.
