Elimelech of Lizhensk was one of the great Hassidic rebbes of the past. He was also a tzaddik(saint) who devoted his life to studying and teaching Torah, as well as encouraging people to repent and return to God. He was born in 1717 in the Galicia region of Southeast Poland, and died in Lizhensk, Poland, in 1786. He is also known as Noam Elimelech, as this was the title of his most popular work. This book is one of the principle works of Chassidut.
