The Famine Sceptics are a small minority of historians who argue that the famines that occurred in the USSR in the 1930s were, by and large, a hoax; that Stalin's policy of collectivization of agriculture was not responsible for millions of deaths; and that the actual number of people who died of starvation was much lower and due to other causes.
The 1932 dust bowl crisis which occurred not only in the USA, but also in India and the USSR, is sometimes cited as an alternate explanation.
However these views are highly controversial, and aren't taken seriously by most historians. Many people consider them to be similar to Holocaust denial.
