Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index The Far Eastern Republic was a government established in Siberia east of Lake Baikal on 6 April 1920. Although nominally independent, it was mostly controlled by Soviet Russia, and was annexed to the Soviet Union after the Japanese evacuated Vladivostok on 19 November 1922. Postage stamps The Republic issued a number of postage stamps during its brief existence. Initially it overprinted stamps of Russia, then issued its own designs.
