Title of song: Foot Soldiers (Star Spangled Funky)
Title of album: Uncle Jam Wants You
Year of first release: 1979
Trivia: The title is a reference to the US National Anthem, "The Star Spangled Banner".
Description of music:
Songwriters: George Clinton, Jim Vitti
- "Move it, move it, move it soldier/This is Uncle Jam's army, see/Where we Move it, move it, move it"
The lyrics are exceedingly simple. The singer is the foot soldiers' thrill instructor (possibly the same one as in Uncle Jam, though sung by Clinton instead of Wynne) and exhorts his charges to get Funky. This is intended as being the national anthem of Funkadelic (see P Funk mythology).
- Lead Vocal: George Clinton
