Foxborough is a census-designated place (CDP) located in the town of Foxborough in Norfolk County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 5,509.

Geography

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 7.6 km² (3.0 mi²). 7.5 km² (2.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 1.69% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 5,509 people, 2,486 households, and 1,372 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 730.9/km² (1,895.7/mi²). There are 2,576 housing units at an average density of 341.8 persons/km² (886.4 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 96.57% White, 1.42% African American, 0.13% Native American, 1.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.53% from two or more races. 1.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,486 households out of which 25.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.9% are married couples living together, 9.5% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 44.8% are non-families. 37.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.18 and the average family size is 2.95.

In the CDP the population is spread out with 21.7% under the age of 18, 5.3% from 18 to 24, 35.0% from 25 to 44, 21.6% from 45 to 64, and 16.4% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 92.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.6 males.

The median income for a household in the CDP is $50,431, and the median income for a family is $58,924. Males have a median income of $42,030 versus $35,370 for females.
