Geography

Galesburg is located at 47°16'10" North, 97°24'31" West (47.269487, -97.408687)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²). 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 157 people, 66 households, and 44 families residing in the city. The population density is 356.6/km² (937.8/mi²). There are 76 housing units at an average density of 172.6/km² (454.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 97.45% White, 0.00% African American, 2.55% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 66 households out of which 31.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.1% are married couples living together, 6.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.3% are non-families. 33.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 3.02.

Galesburg is the home to the world's second tallest currently standing structure, the KXJB-TV mast at 627 meters. The worlds tallest standing structure is 628 meters in Blanchard, North Dakota, the KVLY-TV mast.
