Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index George William Lewis (1882-July 1948) was the Director of Aeronautical Research at the National Advisory Committee on Aeronautics' (NACA) in until he retired in 1947. He was previously appointed the first Executive Officer of the NACA in 1919. The NASA John H. Glenn Research Center at Lewis Field in Cleveland, Ohio is partly named after him.
