Green Harbor is a village located in the town of Marshfield and Cedar Crest is a village in the town of Duxbury, in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the villages had a total population of 2,397.

Geography

Green Harbor-Cedar Crest is located at 42°4'25" North, 70°39'22" West (42.073624, -70.656161)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the villages have a total area of 5.0 km² (1.9 mi²). 4.6 km² (1.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 8.29% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 2,397 people, 869 households, and 662 families residing in the villages. The population density is 519.9/km² (1,349.3/mi²). There are 1,117 housing units at an average density of 242.3/km² (628.8/mi²). The racial makeup of the villages is 98.50% White, 0.38% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.21% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.54% from other races, and 0.25% from two or more races. 1.21% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 869 households out of which 37.5% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.0% are married couples living together, 10.5% have a female householder with no husband present, and 23.8% are non-families. 18.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.76 and the average family size is 3.18.

In the villages the population is spread out with 27.0% under the age of 18, 5.7% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 38 years. For every 100 females there are 92.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.4 males.
