Hildegard Puwak was the Minister for European Integration in Romania from 2000 until October 2003, as part of the Adrian Nastase Government. Puwak is of German ethnicity. She is currently under investigation for corruption following reports by the Romanian media that she and her family used funds allocated by the Leonardo de Vinci fund of the European Union to fund her own investments between Romania and Germany. On 21 October 2003 she resigned together with two other ministers in the Nastase government.
