Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Two ships of the Royal Australian Navy have borne the name HMAS Norman. The first HMAS Norman (G-49) was an N class destroyer laid down by John I. Thornycroft and Company at Woolston in Southampton on 27 July 1939, launched on 30 October 1940 and commissioned on 29 September 1941. She was manned by Australians and commissioned in the Royal Australian Navy but remained the property of the British Government.
