Hoegaarden is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Flemish Brabant. The municipality comprises the towns of Hoegaarden proper, Meldert and Outgaarden. On January 1st, 2000 Hoegaarden had a total population of 6,014 (2,920 males and 3,094 females). The total area is 34.21 km² which gives a population density of 175.80 inhabitants per km².

Hoegaarden is home to Hoegaarden brewery, founded by Pierre Celis. Celis revived the witbier (wheat beer) tradition in 1966 when he created a beer with the traditional ingredients of water, yeast, wheat, hops, coriander and dried Curaçao orange peel.
