Īle Philippaux is a phantom island believed at one time to be real, shown on early maps of Lake Superior as located between the Keweenaw Peninsula (now Copper Island) and Isle Royale. Though imaginary, this island was used as part of the definition of the water boundary between the United States and Canada.
