The software developer Borland was known for a short time as Inprise. Borland changed its name to Inprise and not long after changed back to Borland. Delphi and other software previously produced by Borland didn't do very well sales-wise under the name of Inprise. As a result, many jokingly remarked that Inprise stands for "Inept Enterprise".
