Jacques Santer (born May 18, 1937) is a politician from Luxembourg. He was Prime Minister of Luxembourg from 1984 to 1995. During the same period, he was also president of the World Bank from 1984 to 1989 and Governor of the International Monetary Fund from 1991 to 1994.

Santer became head of the European Commission in 1995 as a compromise choice forced by the UK. An investigation into allegations of corruption led to the resignation of the entire commission March 15, 1999. Since 1999, Santer has been a member of the European Parliament.
