James Abercromby (7 November 1776 - 17 April 1858), Speaker of the British House of Commons 1835-39, was the third son of General Sir Ralph Abercromby. A barrister, he was Whig MP for Midhurst 1807-12, and for Calne 1812-32. After the Reform Act of 1832 he sat for Edinburgh until 1839, when he was created Baron Dunfermline. He was Master of the Mint in the administration of Earl Grey.
