It is on both the Charing Cross (where the next station is Waterloo) and the Bank (where the next station is Elephant and Castle) branches of the Northern Line. Northbound these have distinct platforms, but southbound there is only one. The next station to the south is Oval, but trains frequently terminate at Kennington. It is in zone 2.
