Kölsch is the dialect of German spoken around Cologne, Germany. As with many dialects of German, true speakers are not common and it is not taught in schools.

Kölsch is also a local beer speciality brewed in Cologne. Compared to the German "standard" beer, Pils, it is less bitter and somewhat lighter tasting. It should be served cold (but not near freezing), and only in long, thin, cylindrical 0,2 litre glasses. Using larger glasses is considered an act of barbarism by the locals.
