La Jornada is one Mexico's leading daily newspapers. It was established in 1984 by Carlos Payán Velver.

La Jornada generally takes left-of-center stances, criticizing the Fox administration and some of the consequences of economic liberalization. It is also sympathetic toward the Zapatista movement.

The editor (directora general) is Carmen Lira.

The online version was launched on February 6, 1995. It is freely available, including the archives.
