Leftfield are a duo of electronica artists and record producers, Paul Daley and Neil Barnes formed in 1991 in London, England. They were pioneers in the fields of intelligent dance music, and released a series of singles and two acclaimed albums before breaking up in 2002 (see 2002 in music). Their first major hit was "Open Up", a collaboration with John Lydon; it was followed by their debut LP, Leftism (1995, see 1995 in music). Their second, and final album came in 1999 (see 1999 in music), Rhythm and Stealth.
