Liriope, also known as lilyturf, is a broad group of low, grassy, flowering plants often used in landscapes, especially in the southeastern U.S (except southern Florida). Lilyturf is not a true grass, but is actually a complete genus of the lily family.

It is very closely related to monkey grass (Ophiopogon japonicus and Ophiopogon planiscapus), and in fact many species of Ophiopogon also have synonymous names under Liriope. Giant lilyturf is known as both Liriope gigantea and Ophiopogon jaburan.
