GNU/LinEx is a Gnobian distribution (a Linux distribution that is based on the most recent, stable, version of GNOME as default desktop environment -1.4 or higher- for Debian 2.4.3 or higher) that includes some add-ons:
- Easy, automatic hardware recognition and hard disk installation (windows partition detection is included, windows partition resizing is not included)
- OpenOffice as default Office applications suite.
- Mozilla and X-Chat in the Internet suite.
- Gnome File explorer Nautilus
- Players
LinEx works only on i386 (onwards) computers.
It is intended to be used in all schools in Extremadura, as well as in official institutions. It is actively promoted for business and home use as well.
